BRENNAN CENTER FOR JUSTICE
The Brennan Center for Justice is a nonpartisan law and policy institute, affiliated with NYU Law School. Their goal is an independent redistricting commission in every state and other redistricting reforms.
CAMPAIGN LEGAL CENTER
Campaign Legal Center seeks a future in which the American political process is accessible to all citizens. They are a great resource for nonpartisan information about advancing democracy through law.
CHARGE hub
Coalition Hub Advancing Redistricting & Grassroots Engagement is a space for groups that organize people in the states and in local communities. While each organization brings different skillsets, has presence in different states, and deploys different strategies, we are all united around the common goal that redistricting must be transformed to allow more voices to participate, be heard, and ultimately be represented.
COMMON CAUSE
Common Cause has been integral in the national movement for redistricting reform. Learn about their campaign for fair and transparent redistricting.

Led by Moon Duchin, the MGGG Redistricting Lab is a research group at Tisch College of Tufts University that grew out of an informal research collective with expertise and interests spanning mathematics (geometry, topology, discrete math, dynamics), algorithms, software development, geography, and policy. They research data science interventions for civil rights.
We also talked to Moon Duchin about why computers can’t be left to their own devices to draw legislative maps. Watch our conversation here.
national black nonpartisan redistricting organization
Political parties have systematically canceled the votes (and voices) of Black, Latino, and other under-represented Virginians in a process known as gerrymandering. Gerrymandering or redistricting allows politicians to concentrate their power by picking who they want as their voters instead of the other way around. The NBNRO reaches out to communities historically ignored in the redistricting process to ensure their votes are not diluted.
PRINCETON GERRYMANDERING PROJECT
The Princeton Gerrymandering Project does nonpartisan analysis to understand and eliminate partisan gerrymandering at a state-by-state level. They are a valuable resource for data and research.
Virginia civic engagement table (VCET)
VCET is a coalition of over 35 partner organizations with a long history of civic activism in Virginia. As advocates of fair redistricting, they provide daily updates on redistricting, as well as training events.
VIRGINIA PUBLIC ACCESS PROJECT (VPAP)
The nonprofit Virginia Public Access Project elevates public understanding of politics and government by organizing and presenting information in ways that are easily accessible and free of partisan bias.
